HS Properties has formulated an ESG Strategy Plan and Roadmap led by the Board, seamlessly incorporating essential Environmental, Social, and Governance factors into our overarching corporate strategy.

Our Strategy

Over its 32-year history, HS Properties has consistently upheld social accountability to its stakeholders, including tenants and the public. Through the implementation of corporate social responsibility ("CSR"), HS Properties has conscientiously considered the social, environmental, and economic impacts of its operations. The company has made deliberate efforts to conduct its business in a manner that contributes positively to society and the environment rather than causing harm.

While both CSR and ESG initiatives play a role in HS properties' public accountability, ESG incorporates quantifiable, recognized standards and frameworks. Through transparency and measurable action, the ESG strategy is intended to safeguard financial success and reputation.

HS Properties approached the development of its ESG Strategic Plan by first creating a governance board.

The success of the ESG Strategy relies on commitment and oversight from at Director level. The Directors are responsible for the oversight of the ESG Strategic Plan and initiatives. The Governance Board oversees and monitors HS properties' performance against the ESG Strategy.

Le Jardin HS Prop

Cultiver la durabilité, une récolte à la fois.

Sur le toit de nos bureaux, le Jardin HS Prop transforme un espace urbain en un lieu de croissance — au sens propre. Nos bacs de culture produisent des légumes, des fruits et des fines herbes de saison : tomates, poivrons, fraises, épinards, laitue, basilic, origan, aneth et plus encore.

Chaque récolte est offerte gratuitement à nos employés. C'est un geste simple qui reflète nos engagements ESG de façon concrète :

  • Environnement. Un toit vert productif qui contribue à réduire les îlots de chaleur urbains, favorise la biodiversité et les pollinisateurs, et offre une production alimentaire ultra-locale — zéro transport, zéro emballage.

  • Social. Le jardin rassemble. Il encourage la saine alimentation, le bien-être des employés et un sentiment de communauté au travail — des valeurs au cœur de notre engagement d'être un employeur de choix.

À chaque récolte, nous partageons aussi des conseils sur les bienfaits nutritionnels des produits et des façons de les apprêter — parce que la durabilité, c'est aussi une question de savoir-faire partagé.

The HS Prop Garden

Growing sustainability, one harvest at a time.

On the rooftop of our offices, the HS Prop Garden turns urban space into a place of growth — quite literally. Our raised beds produce seasonal vegetables, fruit, and fresh herbs: tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, spinach, lettuce, basil, oregano, dill, and more.

Every harvest is offered free of charge to our employees. It's a simple gesture that puts our ESG commitments into practice in a tangible way:

  • Environment. A productive green roof that helps reduce the urban heat island effect, supports biodiversity and pollinators, and delivers hyper-local food production — zero transport, zero packaging.

  • Social. The garden brings people together. It encourages healthy eating, employee wellbeing, and a sense of community in the workplace — values at the core of our commitment to being an employer of choice.

With each harvest, we also share the nutritional benefits of the produce and ideas for preparing it — because sustainability is also about knowledge shared.
